More than 1,600 credit union executives and volunteers from over 55 countries are expected to attend WCUC in 2018. Serving as one of the largest fintech hubs in the world, Singapore will provide an innovative backdrop throughout the four-day event.
Conference attendees will hear from industry experts on topics like: cybersecurity, fintech, digital transition, governance, and customer journey. The extensive educational program includes 20 concurring breakout sessions, lunch and learns, keynote sessions and a Solution Center geared towards solving today’s challenges.
On 17 July, 1:45 pm, Software Group’s CEO Kalin Radev, and Murray Gardiner, Director Inclusive Banking at Temenos, will deliver the breakout session “Digital Disruption: Credit Unions Pay-Day Lending Worldwide”. The session will explore the impact of fintech platforms such as AliPay, IOS and Android mobile payments, MNOs, PayPal on credit unions and their members. It will also discuss ways to leverage relationships with fintech to reach the wider community of people with thin credit files, ambiguous incomes, and circumstances that create a market for usurious payday lenders and platform credit.
